Doktora derecesini 1991 yılında Australian National University’den aldı. Koç Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü'nde doçent olarak çalıştı. Koç Üniversitesi'nde 2004 yılında başlayan Göç Araştırmaları Programı'nın direktörlüğünü yaptı. 1992-2003 yılları arasında Bilkent Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi Bölümü'nde görev yaptı.
Araştırmacı öğretim üyesi olarak İsveç ve İngiltere’de bulundu. (Stockholm University, 1991-1992, İsveç; University of Warwick”, 1998-2000, İngiltere, University of Manchester, 1999-2000, İngiltere).
Uluslararası göç, nüfus hareketleri, uluslararası örgütler, sivil toplum, vatandaşlık, milliyetçilik ve etnisite ve araştırma yöntemleri gibi konularda dersler verdi.
International Migration, International Social Science Journal, Global Governance, Middle Eastern Studies, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Population and Environment, Human Rights Quarterly, Citizenship Studies, Journal of Scientific Studies of Religion, Mediterranean Quarterly, ve Journal of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies gibi uluslararası bilimsel dergilerde yayınlanmış makaleleri vardır.

İngiltere’de Routledge Yayınevi tarafından basılan Küresel Dünyada Vatandaşlık (Citizenship in a Global World) başlıklı kitabı Fuat Keyman ile derlemiştir.
English Biography
Içduygu has received his Ph.D. degree from Australian National University, Australia, in 1991. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor in Department of International Relations, College of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Koç University. He is also the Director of Migration Research Program at Koç University. He has also served as Associate Professor, and Associate Chairperson of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Bilkent University. He had been a Research Fellow at Stockholm University (1991-1992), Visiting Fellow at the University of Warwick (1998-2000), and Research Fellow and Visiting Professor at University of Manchester (1999-2000). He teaches on the theories and practices of citizenship, international organizations, civil society, nationalism and ethnicity, migration, and research methods. In addition to his several articles in journals such as International Migration, International Social Science Journal, Global Governance, Middle Eastern Studies, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Population and Environment, Human Rights Quarterly, Citizenship Studies, Journal of Scientific Studies of Religion, Mediterranean Quarterly, and Journal of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, has a forthcoming book, Citizenship in a Global World, co-edited with Fuat Keyman (Routledge, 2005).
